Overview
Melanie Rawn's Exiles is set on Lenfell, a world colonised a thousand years earlier by Mageborns fleeing persecution and devastated by their own war, which left it with a rigid matriarchy and two orders of mages at odds, the Mage Guardians and the Lords of Malerris. The Ruins of Ambrai (1994) follows the three Ambrai sisters, torn apart as children and raised on opposite sides; The Mageborn Traitor (1997) carries the conflict into the next generation as Cailet rebuilds the Guardians and Sarra forces reform on a society that cannot bear it. The third volume, The Captal's Tower, has been promised since 1997 and never published, so the trilogy is registered as unfinished. A separate world from Rawn's Dragon Prince.
