Overview
Lloyd Alexander published The Marvelous Misadventures of Sebastian in 1970. It is a standalone children's fantasy set in an invented realm that resembles an eighteenth-century European state, ruled by a harsh Regent. Sebastian, a young fiddler dismissed from a baron's household, wanders the countryside with a white cat named Presto and meets a rebel leader, a disguised princess and a travelling clown whose fiddle carries a curse. The story is a single book with no sequels. It is not set in Prydain, the world of the author's Chronicles of Prydain.
