Daryl Gregory is an American science fiction, fantasy and comic book author, born in 1965 in Chicago, Illinois. He graduated from Illinois State University in 1987 with majors in English and theater and attended the Clarion science fiction workshop at Michigan State University in 1988. He taught high school in Michigan for three years, then moved to Salt Lake City and later to State College, Pennsylvania, where he worked for a software company. He sold his first story, 'In the Wheels', to The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction in 1990, and later moved back to Seattle, Washington. His debut novel, Pandemonium, appeared from Del Rey in 2008 and was followed by The Devil's Alphabet in 2009. His short stories have appeared in Asimov's and The Magazine of Fantasy and Science Fiction.
