Synopsis
In an alternate version of our world, people have been randomly possessed since the 1950s by entities that take the shape of pop-culture figures and archetypes, often called demons. As a boy, Del Pierce was possessed by the Hellion, a mischievous troublemaker whose influence did real harm. An exorcism seemed to remove it. Years later, after a car accident, the Hellion returns and becomes trapped inside Del's head. Now an unsettled drifter who struggles to keep relationships, Del looks for help. He turns to a science fiction writer who is possessed himself, a formidable nun, and a secret society that hunts demons. They think Del may hold the key to ending the possessions everywhere, but a cure could cost him his mind and his life.
