Overview
Pandemonium is a standalone fantasy novel by Daryl Gregory, his first, published by Del Rey in 2008. It is set in an alternate version of our world where, from the 1950s onward, people are randomly possessed by entities that take the form of pop-culture figures and archetypes, often called demons. The narrator, Del Pierce, was possessed as a boy by the Hellion; after a car accident it returns and is trapped in his head. Del seeks help from other possessed people, a nun and a secret society of demon hunters. The book has no sequels; Gregory's next novel, The Devil's Alphabet, is set in a different world.
