Justine Niogret is a French writer of fantasy, science fiction and crime fiction, and also a translator. She was born in Brittany, near the Brocéliande forest, in 1979 according to the bio-bibliography published by Les petites fugues, though other sources give only the 1980s. She has said she was drawn more to the Celts and Scandinavians than to the French Middle Ages. Her first novel, Chien du heaume (Mnémos, 2009), made her known in French fantasy, and its sequel Mordre le bouclier followed in 2011. Her later books include Mordred (2013), a retelling of the Arthurian legend, the science-fiction novel Gueule de truie (2013), and, under the pen name Misha Halden, La Viande des chiens le sang des loups (2016). She has also translated Trudi Canavan's The Magician's Guild into French.
