Synopsis
Chien, the heroine of the first book, has still not recovered her name, and her father's death has not eased her rage. After she loses some fingers, the blacksmith Regehir and the warrior Bréhyr make her a claw-like hand that lets her hold her axe again. She sets out with Bréhyr, who wants to kill a man named Herôon. The trail leads towards Tor, described as the place where all truths will be told. The setting is a brutal, fairly realistic medieval world with very limited supernatural elements, and the story turns on the characters' inner lives and faith.
