Laura Sebastian is an American author of young adult and adult fantasy fiction who grew up in South Florida and studied at the Savannah College of Art and Design before relocating to London, England, where she currently resides with her two dogs. She is best known for the New York Times bestselling Ash Princess trilogy — Ash Princess, Lady Smoke, and Ember Queen — a young adult fantasy series centering a deposed princess plotting to reclaim her stolen throne from a brutal empire. She followed this with the Castles in Their Bones series, comprising Castles in Their Bones, Stardust in Their Veins, and Poison In Their Hearts, which follows three princess-assassin sisters. Sebastian has also written for adult audiences with Half Sick of Shadows, a reimagining of the Lady of Shalott legend, and moved into middle-grade fiction with Into the Glades. Beyond her published fiction, she is an avid knitter and shares original knitting patterns online under the designer name 'Flights of Fancy Knits.' Her fantasy work is characterized by court intrigue, morally complex young female protagonists, and richly imagined secondary worlds, and her books have achieved consistent commercial success across multiple series and age categories within the young adult and adult fantasy markets.
