Synopsis
Lady Smoke, the sequel to Ash Princess, follows Theodosia after her escape from the brutal Kaiser as she goes into hiding among allies still loyal to her fallen kingdom, mourning losses suffered in her bid for freedom while remaining determined to reclaim her throne and win justice for her people. With few resources and fewer soldiers, she hatches a daring plan to auction herself as a bride to the highest-paying kingdom, hoping the alliance and army such a marriage could buy will be enough to challenge the Kaiser's empire. The scheme forces Theo into unfamiliar political terrain far from the court she grew up hating, where old loyalties and new dangers complicate her path back to power.
