Sue Lynn Tan is a Malaysian-born fantasy author known for reimagining Chinese mythology for global readers. She pursued higher education at the London School of Economics and INSEAD in France before turning to writing full time, and she now lives in Hong Kong with her family. Tan draws heavily on the myths and legends she loved as a child, particularly the story of the moon goddess Chang'e, which inspired her debut duology Daughter of the Moon Goddess and Heart of the Sun Warrior, together forming the Celestial Kingdom series. She followed these with a companion short-story collection, Tales of the Celestial Kingdom, and the standalone romantasy Immortal, along with the Never Ever After duology, concluding with For Ever More. Her novels blend sweeping romance, court intrigue, and richly detailed East Asian-inspired worldbuilding. Tan's work has achieved considerable commercial and critical success: her books have been translated into eighteen languages, named among Oprah's top fantasy picks, and recognized with the American Library Association's Alex Award. Immortal reached number one on the Sunday Times and UK bestseller charts. Her fiction is frequently praised for bringing underrepresented Asian mythology to mainstream fantasy audiences while exploring themes of duty, sacrifice, and love across sprawling celestial realms.
