Synopsis
Enemies call Sir Max a formidable sorcerer, while his friends know him as a cheerful and somewhat frivolous man. He works for the Secret Investigation Service of the United Kingdom and keeps meeting danger. Even his dreams give him no rest, because they show him a Door to Humgat, a mysterious corridor leading to unknown worlds. In the first novella a familiar, comfortable world turns hostile and sleep becomes a perilous journey as Max pursues a rebellious magister. The second novella compares life to a cauldron of magical brew into which fate keeps throwing talismans and poetry.
