Synopsis

The story is set in the Coffee Dregs tavern, on the border between a newly formed reality and the chaos of unrealized possibilities. Old friends and colleagues of the Secret Investigator Sir Max meet there to talk about the past and to avoid discussing a future that is nearly here. Max tells a long story about literature and literary criticism. The story involves ghosts, immortal sorcerers of ancient times, a book of crimes not yet committed, and the character Lojso Pondohva, and it is meant to answer questions readers have long asked.
