Synopsis
Fifteen-year-old Filiel Dee has grown up in a remote highland village, close to her father, an astronomer who studies in his tower. On the morning of her first ball she is given a necklace set with a blue stone by her childhood friend Rune, who says it belonged to her late mother. Filiel treasures it, but the stone soon turns out to be far more than a keepsake. It is the Queen's Touchstone, the most important jewel in the kingdom, and it links her to the secret of her own birth. A girl who has lived quietly in the northern hills finds that the choice of the next queen of the kingdom of Astrea now involves her, and that her life will not be the same again.
