Synopsis
To protect her childhood friend Rune, Filiel promises to help Adeil, a count's daughter who is a candidate for the throne. She is sent to a boarding school for girls to learn the education expected of a noblewoman, and finds that the school, which should be a calm place, is full of plots and rivalries. Rune's life is in danger, so he hides by dressing as a girl and joining the school himself. At the festival of the Wheat Maidens, Filiel faces a duel with real swords in which a great deal is at stake. The book follows her first year in the academy as she learns who can be trusted.
