Synopsis
A collection of short stories set in the Forest of No Return, the hidden homeland of the elves on Lodoss. The elves treat the forest as a beautiful sacred homeland guarded by its spirit king, while for humans it is a magical wilderness they cannot leave once they enter. The book centers on the high elf Deedlit. One story follows her youth and her decision to leave the forest for the wider world, and others show how humans such as Parn and elves such as Deedlit and Estas meet and form bonds. It also tells previously untold stories from the main series.
