Synopsis
Lina Inverse, a young sorceress known for her destructive spells, and Gourry Gabriev, the swordsman travelling with her, arrive in Atlas City. They take work as bodyguards there, and the job soon draws them into a plot built around kidnappings and experiments carried out by a man named Halciform, who is after immortality. Lina narrates, and the story keeps to a single city so that her strongest spells cannot settle every problem at once.
