Synopsis
A Caress of Twilight (2002) is the second novel in the Merry Gentry series. Faerie princess and private investigator Merry Gentry returns to her work in Los Angeles, now leading a guard of Sidhe warriors who serve as both protectors and romantic partners. A Hollywood actress hires Merry to help with a fertility ritual for a former Seelie Court exile, even as a mysterious force known as the Nameless, formed from the darkest impulses of both faerie courts, is unleashed and begins posing a growing supernatural threat. Merry must also contend with pressure from the Seelie King Taranis and continuing demands from her aunt's court, while one of her guards requires aid from the treacherous Demi-Fey, help that comes with a steep price. The mounting dangers draw Merry deeper into faerie politics even as she tries to protect those around her.
