Synopsis
In this third Merry Gentry novel, the faerie princess and private investigator, niece to the ruthless ruler of the Unseelie Court, continues to navigate political intrigue within that court while her own magical powers intensify. Offered a path to becoming crown princess, Merry leads a guard of powerful faeries known as the Ravens, including their captain Doyle, and must work to produce an heir ahead of her cousin and rival Cel in order to secure her claim. As she grows closer to figures such as the goblin king Kurag, Merry contends with court conspiracies, the demands of her aunt's rule, and her deepening, unpredictable connection to the goddess Danu, whose influence begins to manifest unexpected powers within her.
