Synopsis
The war to end all wars is coming: the Endlords are preparing for invasion, and the magical veil that holds them back is weakening. With Mace Blackhail away at war, Raina struggles to hold Clan Blackhail together, while Ash March leaves with the mysterious Sull to learn the truth of her birth. Abandoned by his friends and embittered by the lore that names him Watcher of the Dead, the outcast Raif Sevrance wanders the edge of the Want until he finds the only group willing to accept a renegade, the outlaw Maimed Men, and crosses the Great Want, a place where even the Sull now fear to tread; for deep within it lies the Fortress of Grey Ice, and there he must heal the breach in the Blindwall that already threatens the world. Should he fail, not even Ash's powers can save them. The second book of the Sword of Shadows.
