Synopsis

The fourth volume of the Traitor Son Cycle finds the Red Knight forced back into war after one of the allied armies has already suffered defeat at the hands of their enemies. The story widens its scope considerably, following each of the Red Knight's allies as they face a corresponding foe across scattered lands and seas, from northern fortresses to distant coastlines, as the many separate strands of conflict set up in earlier books begin to converge. The mounting pressure on every front builds toward a single, decisive gamble that the Red Knight and his allies must risk everything on.

Notes

  • From the series record (The Traitor Son Cycle): A completed five-novel epic fantasy sequence, written by a former professional soldier and drawing on real medieval warfare and mercenary-company logistics, following a disgraced mercenary captain defending a border country against an encroaching supernatural wilderness.
