Synopsis
A Shiver of Light (2014) is the ninth and final novel in Laurell K. Hamilton's Merry Gentry series, continuing from the events of Divine Misdemeanors. Meredith "Merry" NicEssus, faerie princess turned Los Angeles private investigator, has secured her pregnancy and established her own court of fey who stand apart from the traditional Seelie and Unseelie hierarchies, alongside her partners and guards. With her children on the way, Merry works to build a stable household and protect her unconventional family from the political fallout of her earlier break with both royal courts. As threats tied to her position and her children's parentage continue to surface, Merry must balance the demands of new motherhood with the ongoing dangers posed by rival fey factions and the courts she has left behind.
