Synopsis
In this eighth Merry Gentry novel, the faerie princess has secured her pregnancy ahead of her rival cousin Cel and stepped back from the direct politics of the Unseelie and Seelie courts. Now leading a new faction of fey who exist outside the traditional court structures, Merry tries to build a stable life with her partners and expanding household while her detective agency, the Grey Detective Agency, is drawn into investigating a series of brutal murders. She must keep peace among her companions and allies even as media scrutiny intensifies around her unconventional family, and as the magical powers of her growing circle of fey followers continue to develop in unpredictable ways, complicating her efforts to protect them.
