Synopsis
It is the eighteenth century, and the Royal Society of London is home to the greatest minds of England, revolutionising the understanding of the natural world with Newton's mechanics and Halley's astronomy. Beneath the city, the Onyx Court has a problem that those minds might solve: the dragon it defeated in the Great Fire was not destroyed but banished, imprisoned on the comet that Halley has predicted will return in 1759, and when it does, the dragon will come back with it, to a London that has grown far beyond the faerie hall's power to protect. With the comet's return only a few years away, Queen Lune and her mortal Prince set out to find a way to destroy or contain it, which means drawing the fae into the new world of scientific experiment, and drawing some of its natural philosophers into theirs.
