Synopsis
A Wizard Alone, sixth novel in the Young Wizards series, follows Nita and Kit in the aftermath of the events of the previous book, as Nita struggles with grief and depression alongside strange, recurring dreams centered on a solitary figure who refuses all offers of help. At the same time, Kit is asked by his mentors to locate a young autistic boy named Darryl McAllister, who is undergoing his wizardly Ordeal, the trial every new wizard must face. As Kit investigates, it becomes clear that Darryl is not entirely what he appears to be, possessing unusual and complicated magical power that makes him a conduit for forces beyond an ordinary young wizard's Ordeal.
