Synopsis
The Wizard's Dilemma, fifth novel in the Young Wizards series, opens with tension between Nita and Kit over how to address pollution in Jones Inlet, a disagreement that leaves the two partners at odds just as a far more serious crisis reaches Nita's family: her mother is hospitalized with a brain tumor. Determined to find a way to save her, Nita throws herself into studying magical kernels, a kind of wizardly software that describes and can reshape the world around her, searching for some means of helping her mother that ordinary medicine cannot provide. In her search she encounters a wizard named Pralaya, who may be able to help her, though his possible connection to the destructive force known as the Lone Power raises serious risks.
