Synopsis
Aerie, the fourth and final novel in Mercedes Lackey's Dragon Jousters series, follows Kiron after he has helped unify the dragon riders and end the open warfare and magical tyranny that once defined Tia and Alta. Seeking to build something more permanent, Kiron and his allies establish a new settlement at an abandoned cliffside city called Aerie, hoping to create a lasting home for their dragons and riders away from old conflicts. Their efforts to found this new society are complicated by growing signs of a hidden conspiracy, one that appears to have infiltrated every level of their community, including Kiron's own family, raising the unsettling possibility that the Magi who once ruled Alta through fear were suppressed rather than truly defeated.
