Overview
A complete four-novel sequence (2003-2006) by Mercedes Lackey, set in a secondary world modeled on pre-dynastic Ancient Egypt. It follows a serf named Vetch, a captured dragonrider who escapes to Alta, the subjugated land of his birth, later becoming known as Kiron as he works to teach his people dragon husbandry and training in the hope of building an army that can liberate his homeland.
