Synopsis

A demon army attacks the fortress of Peshawar. Kubad and its defenders fight hard, but the attackers are led by the demon general Iltherisch, who commands tens of thousands of monsters, and the castle is close to falling. In the land of Misr, Hirmes, staying as a guest general, gets a rare chance to take control of the country for himself. Beneath the capital Ecbatana, followers of the Serpent King Zahhak are working in secret. Threats come at once from the battlefield, from political ambition and from hidden forces under the city.
