Synopsis
On the planet Samaria, winged angels watch over the people under a god called Jovah, and every generation a new Archangel is chosen at the Gloria, a great festival of song. Gabriel is due to take the title, but the oracle declares that Jovah has picked his bride: Rachel, a woman from a village that no longer exists. Gabriel finds her working as a slave in a wealthy man's house and frees her. Rachel sides with the oppressed, distrusts angels, and wants no part of the match, so the two clash from the start. The old Archangel, Raphael, is corrupt and refuses to step down.
