Overview
Samaria is a series of five novels by Sharon Shinn, published by Ace between 1996 and 2004. It is set on the planet Samaria, where genetically engineered winged angels live beside humans and sing prayers to a god called Jovah. The colonists' descendants have forgotten that Jovah is a spaceship in orbit and that the "miracles" are technology. Each Archangel is chosen with a mortal life-mate. Archangel follows Gabriel and Rachel; Jovah's Angel follows Alleluia about 150 years later; The Alleluia Files is set later still; Angelica and Angel-Seeker were written later and are set before and just after Archangel. Shorter works in the world are not part of the core.
