Synopsis

Opening the Genesis of Shannara trilogy around the year 2100, in a world ravaged by nuclear war and plague, the novel follows two parallel stories. In the ruins of Seattle, a band of homeless street children called the Ghosts, led by a young man named Hawk who is secretly a magical being called a gypsy morph, struggle to survive amid roaming demons and monsters. Deep in the Oregon wilderness, a hidden Elven kingdom is protected by the Ellcrys, a magical tree that seals away supernatural forces from another realm; the tree telepathically warns two of its young guardians, Kirisin and the king's daughter Erisha, that a force is coming that will change the world forever.
