Synopsis
The Wolverines are stranded in Acurial, a parallel world where the native orcs have had their fighting spirit bred out of them and live under ruthless human rulers who command magic. Their only way home, the mysterious instrumentalities, has been seized by their old enemy, the depraved sorceress Jennesta, and getting the artefacts back is only one of their problems. To spark an uprising against the occupiers, Stryke and his band must first reawaken the lost warrior spirit of Acurial’s orcs, while staying alive in a world where they are outnumbered and hunted.

Publication order and internal chronology are tracked as two separate orderings and are never conflated: a book's place in one says nothing about its place in the other.
