Synopsis
Artemis Fowl and the Opal Deception follows the return of Opal Koboi, the vengeful pixie inventor from an earlier book, as she pursues a renewed bid for power against both the fairy authorities and Artemis himself. Central to her scheme is a plan to expose the hidden fairy world to humanity by sending a probe into the earth, an act that would shatter the secrecy fairies have maintained for centuries and destabilize their society. As Opal's plot unfolds, Artemis and his fairy allies, including Holly Short, must set aside old tensions to stop her before the exposure she is engineering can be completed, with the consequences reaching far beyond their earlier, more personal conflicts.
