Synopsis
Aru Shah and the City of Gold, the fourth Pandava Quintet novel, opens with Aru Shah encountering Kara, who claims to be her biological half-sister and a sixth Pandava; the two escape together and reunite with Aru's friends, who reveal that Aru has been missing for two months. With war between the devas and the asuras looming, Aru and her sisters, Mini, Brynne, Aiden, Nikita, and Sheela, must reach their mentors in Lanka, the city of gold, before the conflict breaks out fully. Along the way, they are set a series of trials by Lord Kubera meant to secure access to elite warriors and a powerful weapon the Pandavas need for the fight ahead, all while Aru wrestles with uncertainty over whether Kara, who may have ties to the Sleeper, can truly be trusted.
