Synopsis

Aru Shah and the End of Time opens with twelve-year-old Aru Shah, who lives in a Los Angeles museum where her mother works and who has a habit of exaggerating stories to fit in with her classmates. When schoolmates visit to catch her in a lie about a family trip, she lights a lamp in the museum's forbidden hall to prove she is telling the truth about its curse, and accidentally frees a demon called the Sleeper, who was bound inside it. Aru then learns she is the reincarnation of the Pandava hero Arjuna from Hindu mythology, and is paired with another newly discovered Pandava, Mini, along with a guide who was once an enemy of the Pandavas transformed into a pigeon named Boo. Together they set out on a quest across mythic realms to gather the tools needed to stop the Sleeper's plan.
