Synopsis
Sol, the adopted daughter of Tengel and Silje, is a powerful witch ruled by a dark spirit, and at the same time a young girl who has to obey her parents. For five years she has tended the sick while suppressing her own powers. Finally the day arrives when she is fully grown and free to unleash them: restless, she moves to Denmark to be near her brother Dag, winning over her Danish host family by quietly using her gift to help them. Hoping to find others like herself, she hears of a Swedish gathering where witches and sorcerers meet under the full moon. As she journeys through Norway and Sweden, witch hunts threaten her at every turn, but the thrill of her powers and the call of the Prince of Darkness drive her on, while back home her sister Liv is changed by marriage.

Notes
- From the series record (The Legend of the Ice People): The original 47-volume saga (1982-1989) following the cursed Ice People clan across generations of Scandinavian history, marked by inherited supernatural gifts, a medallion-bound curse, and (in its later volumes) an underground kingdom where time itself runs differently. Two later continuations exist (a further ~35 volumes across two more parts, published years afterward) and are not yet catalogued here pending closer genre review.
