Synopsis
Binti: The Complete Trilogy collects the three novellas following Binti, a gifted young mathematician of the Himba people who becomes the first of her community accepted to the prestigious intergalactic Oomza University. Leaving her family in secret, she boards a transport ship that is attacked by the Meduse, a hostile jellyfish-like alien species, and only survives because an ancient artifact she carries lets her communicate with them; the encounter leaves her permanently transformed. After arriving at Oomza and helping broker a fragile peace, Binti returns home a changed person, facing suspicion and prejudice from her own people while war brews between the Meduse and a rival human faction. In the trilogy's final movement, Binti must draw on everything she has learned and become to prevent the destruction of the people and worlds she has come to love, blending African-inspired myth with far-future science fiction.
