Synopsis

Blood Noir is the sixteenth novel in Laurell K. Hamilton's Anita Blake, Vampire Hunter series. Anita accompanies her friend Jason Schuyler to his hometown in North Carolina so that he can attempt to reconcile with his dying father before it is too late, a personal errand that quickly becomes complicated when Jason is repeatedly mistaken for his look-alike cousin Keith, whose father is a sitting governor weighing a run for the presidency and drawing considerable media attention. Amid the resulting scandal and scrutiny surrounding the governor's family, Anita finds herself contending with the ancient, dangerous vampire known as the Mother of Darkness, who exploits Anita's supernatural ties to a pair of tiger shapeshifters, Crispin and Alex, to draw her into encounters she would rather avoid.
