Synopsis
Brilliance of the Moon, the concluding novel of the original Otori trilogy, follows Takeo and Kaede as they work to establish and secure their joint rule following their marriage, a union that unites two contested domains but does nothing to erase the enemies each of them has accumulated. Rival warlords who see an opportunity in the couple's still-fragile authority begin to move against them, while internal conspiracies within their own territories threaten to undermine their position from inside. The mysterious Tribe, the network of hidden operatives tied to Takeo's birth father, continues to exert pressure on him even as he tries to step fully into his role as a legitimate lord rather than a fugitive with unusual gifts.
