Synopsis
Cadmian's Choice continues the story of Colonel Dainyl and Captain Mykel on Corus as the ruling Alectors receive word that an entire alien civilization plans to relocate its population to their world, having exhausted the resources of their own. The Alectors, who currently monopolize flight on their pteridons and hold a clear advantage in weaponry over the human population, find their own status suddenly threatened by the arrival of the true powers behind their civilization. Complicating the situation further are the Ancient Ones, long thought extinct native inhabitants of Corus who reveal that they still possess formidable powers of their own and are unwilling to accept the planned transfer without resistance. As Dainyl and Mykel try to navigate the growing tension among Alectors, humans and Ancients, the novel builds toward a confrontation none of the factions are fully prepared for.
