Synopsis
Soarer's Choice closes out the trilogy centered on Dainyl, an honest Alector trying to hold his crumbling world together, and Mykel, the native soldier whose hidden Talent has already put his life at risk. With the Alector civilization committed to abandoning Corus for a richer, more resource-abundant world, the planet they leave behind faces being treated as a dumping ground for the malcontents and others judged not worth relocating, a prospect that threatens the future of every human left on Corus. As the systems that have sustained the Alector order begin failing on multiple fronts, Dainyl works to preserve some stability even as his own faction abandons the world he has sworn to protect. The mysterious Soarers, the same ancient beings hinted at throughout the earlier trilogy, reemerge as a force whose power could still reshape how the transition, and Corus's fate, finally plays out.
