Synopsis

For nine years Bellovèse has been admitted to the court of the Gué d'Avara by King Ambigat and has found his place among the Biturige heroes. But as the sovereign ages, the kingdoms of the Celtic world decline: famine and anger gain ground among the tribes, and the gods seem to have turned away from the high king. If they have, what will the chiefs of the client nations do? Some dream of overthrowing Ambigat, seizing power and restoring prosperity, and Bellovèse is among those caught up in the reckoning.
