Synopsis
Colbey Calistinsson, the last of the Renshai, has finished his work among mortals. He now has to face the Seven Tasks of Wizardry to prove that he is the next Western Wizard, the keeper of neutrality between the forces of Law and Chaos. Along the way he learns of an Eighth Task that endangers both humans and gods. Gods, wizards and mortals plan to turn his own allies into weapons against him. With Ragnarok approaching, the lawful and chaotic powers join forces to stop him, even though their actions could lead to mutual destruction. It is the third book of the original Renshai trilogy.
