Synopsis
Pinki never expected to lead anyone, and she has said so plainly. But persecution of the rakkosh is growing worse in the Kingdom Beyond, and she is pulled into a central role in the resistance against the serpent rulers. Back in the Kingdom Beyond she faces serpents, riddles to solve and a corrupt government that has to be overthrown. The story continues directly from Force of Fire, following Pinki as she wrestles with the idea that others are depending on her and has to decide what kind of leader she is willing to become.
