Synopsis
Pinki is a young rakkhosh, a demon, who is still learning to control her fire breathing. She studies at the Ghatatkach Academy of Murder and Mayhem, where classmates mock her scholarship, and she is doubtful about her family's resistance against the serpent overlords who rule the Kingdom Beyond. Then Sesha, the son of the Serpentine Governor, offers a deal: she will steal a weapon he needs and in return he will help her master her fire. To keep her side of the bargain Pinki must protect the Moon Maiden, pretend to be human and survive a family reunion, and the journey makes her question where her loyalties lie.
