Synopsis
Cry of Metal & Bone is the third Earthsinger Chronicles novel by L. Penelope, and it picks up six weeks after the previous book. Darvyn ol-Tahlyro, a legendary Earthsinger, is grieving his missing lover while he hunts separatists who attacked a temple. Meanwhile Kyara, his imprisoned lover, resists a plot to strip her of her powers. Publishers Weekly describes the worldbuilding as intricate and the plot as heavy with political subplots and shifting viewpoints, with the investigation at the center of the story gaining momentum around the halfway point of this fantasy romance novel. The novel was published by St. Martin's Griffin as a trade paperback of about 496 pages, and it follows directly on the events of the second book in the series.
