Synopsis

In this second Dante Valentine novel, the necromancer bounty hunter finds herself confronting a fresh wave of danger as psychics across the city begin turning up murdered, their deaths bearing hallmarks that point toward something far darker than an ordinary killer. Still grappling with her irreversible half-demon heritage and unresolved grief tied to a lover's earlier death, Dante is uncertain which of her remaining allies and adversaries she can actually trust as the investigation deepens. A formidable new supernatural antagonist emerges seeking information about her deceased lover, drawing Dante into a confrontation with infernal forces determined to use her own past against her, even as she works to protect the city's remaining psychics from whatever is hunting them.
