Synopsis
In the eleventh Southern Vampire Mysteries novel, Sookie continues learning about her own fairy heritage, tracing it back through her late grandmother Adele and her half-fairy grandfather Fintan, even as old and new dangers converge on her life. Sandra Pelt, nursing a long-standing grudge, resumes her campaign of revenge against Sookie, while Victor Madden, acting on behalf of vampire King Felipe de Castro, works to undermine Eric Northman's authority and puts Sam Merlotte at risk in the process. Sookie's household grows more crowded and complicated as her fairy relatives, great-uncle Dermot and cousin Claude, move in with her following the closing off of the fairy realm from the human world, and further strain arrives when Bill Compton confesses that his feelings for Sookie have never really faded.
