Synopsis
Rachel Morgan is a witch working as a bounty hunter in a futuristic, alternate-history Cincinnati where vampires, witches, werewolves, and other supernatural beings live openly among humans after a genetically engineered virus known as the Turn decimated the human population. She leaves her contract-bound job at the vampire-run federal agency Inderland Security to found a freelance runner and security business with a living vampire, Ivy Tamwood, and a pixy, Jenks, operating out of a deconsecrated church in the Hollows district of Covington, Kentucky. Her former employer, unwilling to simply let a valuable runner walk away, puts a death threat contract on her head, forcing Rachel to prove herself on the job while dodging assassins sent to silence her for good.
