Synopsis
In the second book of The Hollows series, witch and bounty hunter Rachel Morgan works Cincinnati's supernatural underworld alongside her pixy partner Jenks and vampire roommate Ivy. The central conflict involves a serial killer preying on practitioners of black magic, forcing Rachel to take a case that puts her directly in the path of an ancient and dangerous evil while she is still adjusting to life as an independent runner. As she investigates the killings, Rachel must also navigate her uneasy new business partnership, mounting bills, and a supernatural community that remains deeply suspicious of a witch who quit Inderland Security's ranks, all while trying not to become the killer's next target herself.
